Battery that runs on sugars

Sony has developed a new battery, that uses sugar for producing electricity. Its outer case is made of a vegetable based plastic and it measures about 3.9cm in length. On testing, these batteries produced about 50 milliwatts of power, enough to run your music player.
In these batteries, electricity is produced by pouring sugar solution, into its unit. Inside, a chemical reaction occurs, in which, the enzymes break these sugar molecules to generate electricity.
Such batteries, that are derived from biomass (Biomass is a material derived from recently living organisms. It includes plants, animals and their by-products) are known as bio batteries. So, what Sony has developed, is a bio battery.
